The narrative of every day life is compelling to me. Like novels and films, characters, place, story are evident - a kind of visual narrative captured at a moment in time, an extraction of ordinary life that out of context seems extraordinary.  The spectator aspect - what's going on before, during and after the shot - is really intriguing to me. In some ways my photographs are reminiscent of 60's and 70's films when subtext mattered and hand-held cameras captured the imagination with that documentary look.

This abstract series is very physical like dance. I choreograph at night. It's all about movement, the amount of light and timing of the capture.
